“Ordinary father-daughter love had a charge to it that generally was both permitted and indulged. There was just something so beautiful about the big father complementing the tiny girl. Bigness and tininess together at last – yet the bigness would never hurt the tininess! It respected it. In a world in which big always crushes tiny, you wanted to cry at the beauty of big being kind of and worshipful of and being humbled by tiny.”

Some of the ladies of Polished Pistil asked their dads a couple of questions for Father’s Day;

Q1: What do you love most about being my/a Dad?
Q2: What would you say to the women without a relationship with their Dad?

Here are their answers:

IMG_6301Q1: What do you love most about being a dad?

A1: What I love most about being a dad is being available to direct and assist my children with Gods help in becoming productive adults.

Q2: What would you say to the women without a relationship with their Dad?

A2: To women that do not have a relationship with their earthly father,  look to God for a fatherly relationship first and with His guidance, strive to reconnect with your earthly other. It is important to first forgive, be forgiven (if necessary), and trust that nothing is impossible. Relationships can be established, but only when both sides are in agreement to reestablish; and this takes time. Start investing today in mending broken daughter-father relationships. It’s worth the effort!

Q1: What Do You Love Most About Being My Dad?

What I  love most is a question that cannot be answered. There is no more or less in the love I have for you. I appreciate your willingness to listen and learn despite the fact we are so far apart.

FullSizeRenderQ1: What Do You Love Most About Being My Dad?

A1: The thing I love most about being your dad is that we have found a way to make each other smile. I’ve watched you grow from a young lady into an amazing mother.

Q2: What would you say to the women without a relationship with their Dad?

A2: Too all the ladies that have ever lost the relationship with their dad’s please find it in your hearts to reach out and rekindle it. It is one of the greatest gifts God has to give….the love between a father and his daughter.

Thanks Dad, for all that you do, all that you’ve done and all that you will continue to do.
