There’s nothing quite like sharing an intimate piece of yourself with the world and then having even one person love it, respect it, and/or feel it. My intimate piece?  The book I published in August 2016 called Stories of a Polished Pistil: Lace and Ruffles. Stories of a Polished Pistil: Lace and Ruffles, consists of poems, prose, and short stories compiled into three characters. The book covers love, friendship, heartbreak, spirituality, abuse, cultural conflict, affirmations, and femininity.

Coffee is the common man’s gold, and like gold, it brings to every person the feeling of luxury and nobility – Sheik Abd-Kadir.

I’ve been drinking the common man’s gold since the age of six.  Coffee was introduced to me by my God-grandmother, who is in fact practically a real life fairy. She has one of the kindest hearts I know. Proof? Well, she introduced me to coffee.

One minute a friend and I are looking at a video of this pizza taco in New Jersey. The next minute we’re on the way to go inhale a slice. 😀 Pizza Pizza The Tony Boloney’s experience in Hoboken, NJ is nothing short of phenomenal. Their signature Taco Pizza (offered only on Tuesdays) is a flavorful party in your mouth and a joy to your stomach. Not only will a single slice  end your hunger for an entire day, but I am almost certain it could also bring world peace. I was so stinking happy afterwards :D. Meeting the friendly people at Tony Boloney’s was a joy as well. I cannot wait to go back. Thank you for the VIP service, tourist advice, clean bathroom, and warm atmosphere 🙂 Hoboken One of my favorite things about this town? It’s swarming in small businesses. Chains were difficult to come by! I managed to locate one Starbucks, one 7eleven and…

I prefer the magic and love formed in openness, honesty, mutual respect, trust, appreciation, and simplicity. I’ve applied this preference to motherhood.  This has in turn allowed for a relationship that doesn’t have to be overstated, questioned nor overshared… but one that she (we) can be sure is consistent, true, and of my (each other’s) very best. I am immensely grateful to God for this precious gift; the gift I call Mini, the gift I call motherhood, the gift I call us. – Maquita Donyel

If men could menstruate … clearly, menstruation would become an enviable, boast-worthy, masculine event: Men would brag about how long and how much. … Sanitary supplies would be federally funded and free. Of course, some men would still pay for the prestige of such commercial brands as Paul Newman Tampons, Muhammad Ali’s Rope-a-Dope Pads, John Wayne Maxi Pads, and Joe Namath Jock Shields — “For Those Light Bachelor Days.” – Gloria Steinem
