30 Day Fitness Challenge Day 2 Today was a crazy day. CRAZY. Between the many-Mini activities, house chores, and meetings, the last thing I wanted to do was work out. SO, I opted out of cardio, and said well, I can at least hold a Plank for 50 seconds; and did. (Our family Maltipoo, Fiorella,  then decided under my plank was the place to be -_-) Now, 50 seconds doesn’t sound like much, but for someone out completely out of shape…it did it’s job. Woke up the next morning with a very sore core (drops the beat). Only 50 seconds of holding a plank, and my body was doing something! So I say to you, do not be discouraged. This challenge isn’t about doing the most, but about pushing yourself to do more than what you’ve been doing. If doing more means 30 seconds of holding a plank, 15 mins…

30 Day Fitness Challenge HAPPY NEW YEAR PISTILS! What better time to start working on your fitness resolution than in January, with the rest of the United States of America? 😉 Blogging about the many things that involve being a woman, while on a  journey to becoming my ultimate self is only done in hopes that you all will run, jump, cry, climb, and love right along with me. Encouraging YOU to find your inner queen, your inner light and to become your ultimate self,  is the ultimate mission. How you feel about yourself physically is just as important as how strong you feel mentally and emotionally. With that said, we are challenging you, AGAIN, to working out for 30 days of straight. The 30 Day Fitness Plan The goal is to work out at least once a day, for 30 days straight. Whether it is for  2 hrs,  30…

SOOO I NEVER talk about how much I weigh. In fact, like most women, skinny, curvy or overweight, it’s usually a forbidden topic! But with the 30 Days of Fitness Challenge going, I feel it’s important that we (ladies) not obsess over the numbers on the scale. While we can use those numbers as a guide of where would we like to be, it’s important to remember that those numbers do not define how we feel, how we look, or how healthy we are. Those numbers do not define how we feel, how we look, or how healthy we are. You’re beautiful and wonderful no matter what that scale says. The person in the mirror says so 😉 Stay Polished Pistil, Maquita Donyel

Rain, shine or thunderstorm: we are running today! GAHH! My phone rings and it’s a little after 8 am on a Saturday morning. (Without my mini home this means I’m KNOCKED OUT.) Thankfully my phone is on silent and I miss that and the two text messages that followed. Turns out hearing the calls and messages would not have mattered anyway because by the time I woke up and called her back, she was already headed to my house to MAKE me get up! It was kind of my fault… “Do not bite at the bait of pleasure till you know there is no hook beneath it.” You see, I come up with the most brilliant ideas during the night about all the things I’m going to accomplish when I wake up the next morning. Usually I just cannot get up to actually do them. AS: Sleep. Always. WINS.…

By: Maquita  Donyel In her mid-twenties, she works two jobs (9am-11pm), maintains a romantic relationship and manages the many moving pieces in her life. But making time for herself is at the top of her list. “I enjoy getting up early in the morning to take time to myself in my yard or in my space. I try to run every morning as well, but Yoga is what I have time for right now.” 24 days to go Pistils! Be inspired and realize we can ALWAYS fit FITNESS and ME time into our schedules. Even if it’s just 20 minutes of relaxing Yoga, it makes a world of difference before starting your day. I’m so proud of you ladies and thank you for also encouraging me to get off of my behind!! Trust me, I’ve wanted to quit already…but I can’t knowing it would give you a freebie as well!…

Click here for the recipe Yesterday I had a hard time convincing myself to workout. I know, two days in and I was already over it. I was exhausted, sore, and just wanted to REST. So you can see why initially, I accepted my every day excuses with open arms: “But Maquita,  you could use this time to clean”. (Never did) OR “You can use this time to take a quick nap! Then you will have more energy to do more later”! (Nap never came) OR “You can just get your bottom off of the couch, force yourself to put on your shoes.. and just workout”! ding ding ding we have a winner!! So with the fitness part out of the way, onto the best part of the evening… WARNING: If you know a bit about me and you are known to faint when overwhelmed or surprised, I suggest you take a seat before…
